We love to sing!

We work hard to enhance our skills while enjoying the process of creating a “whole” that is more than the sum of its parts. While solo opportunities may arise, we are first and foremost a group. We seek singers who can match pitch, enjoy blending in a group setting, and who are committed to the process of rehearsing and striving for improvement. Our plan is to have two seasons per year. Each will consist of 15 weeks of rehearsals culminating in a performance for our families, friends, and community. Please also go to our Facebook Events Page for information about upcoming events.

Most of our founding members previously sang at PCC Rock Creek where we met the music professionals with whom we are partnering to establish this new, independent choir:

Artistic Director - Pollyanna Hancock Moody

Pollyanna Hancock-Moody has been directing choirs since she was 18 years old. Since then she has directed choirs at Marylhurst University, Portland Community College Rock Creek Campus, Sunnyside Seventh-day Adventist Church and Lake Oswego United Church of Christ. Now she is thrilled to be the artistic director of the newly founded Cantata Pacifica Community Choir.

In 1996 Pollyanna founded the
Hancock Music Studio where she teaches voice, piano and Bodymapping. She also offers a Group Vocal Class at Portland Community College SE Campus. Pollyanna was on the music faculty at Marylhurst University for 15 years, and she taught as adjunct music faculty at Portland Community College, Rock Creek Campus. Pollyanna Moody, soprano, currently sings with Light Opera of Portland and Fireside Carolers. She has been a featured soloist with many groups, including members of the Oregon Symphony, Vivace Voices, the Oregon Repertory Singers and Marylhurst Choral Union. She received her Masters in Vocal Performance from Portland State University. She is a certified Andover Educator (Body Mapping) and a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Pianist - Kathryn Work

Kathryn is a graduate of Earlham College and the Yale School of Music and has taught piano and music theory for many years. She has accompanied the Wheaton College Chorale in Massachusetts and the Portland Boy Choir. While teaching at Dedham Country Day School in Massachusetts, she directed and wrote the music for children’s musicals. Her CD “Inner Harmony” features original piano music for meditation.

In addition to their many accomplishments, Polly and Kathryn have worked together with choirs for a number of years. They are very in tune with each other which ensures rehearsals that are successful and efficient, yet always enjoyable.

Whether you sing with us or come to our concerts -- Welcome!
